Daren Mehl has over 10 years experience in the IT and Financial Services industry, most recently as the Vice President of Information Technology at a major correspondent bank. Mehl designed a major internet online banking system utilizing biometric authentication and has spoken internationally about the deployment of the award winning system. He has designed secure networks with components such as complex firewalls, IDS and IDP systems, information security best practices and physical access controls. Because of his exposure to many community banks throughout his career, Mehl is recognized as a leader in technology and security among community banks in the Midwest and has a deep understanding of government regulations and industry best practices for financial institutions.

Daren Mehl is an information security consultant for Assurity River Group, a leading provider of security and business continuity services for financial institutions. Daren works with credit unions to assess and manage risk associated with business interruption and protection of member information.
Daren has over 10 years of experience working in IT for financial institutions. Prior to Assurity River, Daren was the Vice President of Information Technology for a major correspondent bank in the Twin Cities. With his background, he is intimately aware of the technical and regulatory challenges facing financial institutions.

Daren Mehl, assistant vice president of information technology has worked for United Bankers’ Bank (UBB) since 1997. As a systems analyst for UBB, Mehl automated money transfer (wires) systems and federal funds system. In 2000, he was promoted to IT Officer involved with systems design and implementation. Daren has served as the Vice President of Information Technology for the past two years. He has created a [centralized] customer information file system, internal web sites, online report system and integrated an online banking system into the web site. Most recently Mehl lead the DigitalPersona U.are.U Online authentication integration with the UBB web site.
